Busy Bee’s Bday (the 2nd)

The Busy Bee is 2 years old! The terrible twos are upon us for sure. She had a great time bee-bopping around in her pink tu-tu. Thanks to everyone who came and for the very nice gifts. She loves standing in the water table and we finally got a pump to blow up the super deluxe swimming pool. When it’s blown up I can’t keep her out of it. (I’ll post that video later.)

Z’s Fashionista Extravaganza

Z turned the big 7 and wanted to have all her girls over for a fashion party. We started out with the “designers” making toilet paper dresses, then they sketched some fabulous creations before taking to the runway themselves, surrounded by paparazzi. Finally, they enjoyed a fancy tea complete with pink lemonade with all the frills and delicious cake. Zoe had a really great time, and we want to thank everyone who came and made this such a memorable event–especially the fabulous designer/models!

A big week

Not only did miss Z have a huge birthday extravaganza this week, but she also got to lead the flag salute, was this week’s penny winner, received an honor book AND she got her picture up in the school office for winning the President’s award for getting 50 blue cards.  (Kids get blue cards when they do something that exemplifies the 3 Rs…respectful, responsible,  and ready.) Yay Z!

Z leads the pledge

Z was asked to lead the flag salute this morning, so she got to stand up on stage with the prinicpal in front of the whole school. She did a great job!

Welcome to 2

image

In the past few days I have witnessed Miss Iz eating straight out of a bag of sugar, dipping her toothbrush in the toilet and brushing her teeth with it, pulling all the dirty diapers out of the diaper pail and just this morning writing on my nice wood furniture with ball point pen (Then she says, “do you *like* it?”). I believe the terrible twos are upon me. Sigh.

Bee in a Bucket

The Bee and I were doing a little gardening this afternoon, so I set her up with a tub of water to play with. I literally walk less than 10 feet away to get another bucket, turn around and find her sitting in the tub of water with all her clothes on.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Z decided she was going to make a leprechaun trap in honor of St. Patty’s day. Apparently Leprechauns run amok on St. Patty’s day and Z figures if she catches one she can make him give us his gold. (She also made it known that if her room was messy, it was because the leprechaun came in and messed it up just to be michievious.) We couldn’t find any green candy, so they set it up with a blue marshmallow peep instead.

Masterpiece

Bee created this beautiful masterpiece for me. Then she proceeded to write on her shirt, her face and my dining room chairs with purple dry-erase marker. Sigh.
