I love days like this…a perfect afternoon at Riviera’s. The Bee diggs the ocean. It’s hard to keep her out of it. She also likes to eat sand, but that’s another story. We didn’t have enough of this kind of weather this year. Sad to see summer go…
Family Day at the Beach
Camping Monkey

Daddy took Z Monkey on her first camping trip of the summer. Once again the princess fishing pole enabled Z to catch her limit.

This is all we can see the ipad is good for so far.?
A Little Bee
Here’s what Biz is doing today. At 1 year and a month or so, she says “momma”, “mom”, “dadda”, “hi”, “hi Iz” and now “Bark Bark” (when referring to the dog–or any dog for that matter). She walks well if you hold her hands but refuses to take the all important solo steps. That’s okay with me–she can take her time.
At the Beach with the Mays
We spent some time at the beach when Z’s cousins visited back in March. Summer is definitely coming. You can tell because the volume of people around here triples. Still, we’ve had some nice beach days lately. We’re thinking we should have a “stay-cation” and enjoy spending some time in the nice place where we live.

Rockin’ Iz
Iz has just started rockin’ out when she hears music. Add that to her Beyonce move and she’s got quite the repertoire. She’s also working hard on honing her walking skills. She hasn’t taken off on her own yet, but she loves to go for long walks while holding your fingers or pushing her hippo walking toy. This whole walking thing will be a lot better when she quits stopping every 2 minutes to squat down and pick up something to put in her mouth. She’s a good eater and has just starting drinking regular milk. She still doesn’t say much, but I definitely recognize “mama” when I hear it, which is most of the time.
Jog-a-thon
Z participated in her first ever jog-a-thon for her school. The field was filled with kindergarteners and first graders running around in circles (an 1/8 mile track). The marines from Pendleton came up to help the kids warm up and run them around the course. It was really cute. Okay, so I figured she’d only run about 2 laps and give up…but she ended up running for the whole 20 minutes and made it around the track 15 times!!! Go Z Go!

This is part of the “Neighborhood Helpers” series. Z is learning a bunch of songs for a play they will be putting on at the end of the year. This one is about Firefighters. I think my favorite line is “who likes water more than frogs, who likes hydrants more than dogs…we do!”
